As a Delta Air Lines Product Owner, you will serve as the bridge between business strategy and IT development, managing the product lifecycle, defining requirements, and prioritizing the backlog for squads. Key responsibilities include creating user stories, leading agile ceremonies, collaborating with stakeholders to improve customer and employee experiences, and leveraging data for informed decision-making.

The following is a summary of responsibilities and is not comprehensive of all tasks:

• Provide leadership and direction to Analysts in reviewing, communicating, and translating business needs for both technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders.

• Direct the work of squad/pods within Information Technology to prioritize the sprint backlog, balancing requirements of business stakeholders.

• Directly work with internal and external design resources to create UX/UI experiences to support new product functionality for both informational and transactional customer needs.

• Collaborate with other Product Owners, Product Managers, and stakeholders to refine features and stories and accept completed stories, ensuring they meet all predefined criteria.

• Coordinate with other Product Owners across the organization to align cross-squad efforts and maintain coherence in product development.

• Translate product development goals into requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.

• Attend regular ceremonies with the Information Technology team including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint review/demos, and retrospectives.

• Identify and communicate opportunities to increase revenue, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

• Provide regular status reports to key stakeholders, sponsors, project managers, and others involved in the project.

• Play an integral role in engagement, communication, change management, feedback loops, and overall leadership visibility across the system.

• Develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and wellbeing.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of writing user stories and ensure they clearly convey the required functionality to the IT development teams.

• Actively participate in all squad ceremonies, including sprint demos, planning, and retrospectives.

• Provide continuous feedback during sprint demos and lead discussions to ensure effective iterations of product features.

• Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders to review product progress and outcomes.

• Work closely with stakeholders and Product Managers to contribute to the overarching product vision and strategy with data-backed ideation and iterative solutioning.

• Champion agile methodologies within the squad, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

• Utilize tools like Agility and Aha! for effective project management and ensure data hygiene to track progress accurately.

• U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age

• Active-duty with 90–180 days remaining before separation

• TAP requirements completed

• Command approval secured or in progress to participate in SkillBridge

• Agile Product Management training and experience

• Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar role) in a dynamic agile environment

• Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Proficiency in written and oral communications and ability to produce concise, relevant documents and presentations

• Curious mindset, willing to ask “why” until root causes of use cases are identified

• Must be performing satisfactorily in present position

• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles

• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency

• Strong understanding of agile practices and principles, with a certification in Agile methodology preferred

• Experience with internal and external facing channels

• Experience with digital.ai (Agility/VersionOne) or Jira

• A background in Aviation

6. Have you served in a Product Owner role, or a comparable role in which you were responsible for defining requirements, prioritizing a backlog, or guiding a development team in an Agile environment?

8. On a scale of 1–10, how would you rate your proficiency in written and oral communication?

9. Do you have any professional experience identifying the root cause of a problem by asking probing questions or conducting structured analysis?

10. Are you currently performing satisfactorily in your present position, with no active performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, or equivalent military corrective measures?

11. Do you consistently prioritize safety, security, and the protection of sensitive or personal data in your daily work?

12. Do you have experience working within or leading diverse teams, including individuals of different backgrounds, perspectives, and working styles?

13. Do you possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency credential?

Preferred Qualifications:

14. Do you hold a formal certification in Agile methodology? If yes, please list the certification(s), issuing body, and date obtained on your resume.

15. Do you have experience managing or contributing to both internal-facing (employee/operational) and external-facing (customer/public) digital products or channels?

We are looking for driven, analytically minded Service members ready to transition into the Product Analyst role. This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives on data manipulation, statistical modeling, and data storytelling. • Continuously Improve: Stay current with evolving tools      in data science, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML; proactively apply new      methods to improve efficiency, prediction accuracy, or business alignment.
